Lithuanian Stock Market Overview14/11/2005- 20/11/2005
The recent week for the most companies of Lithuania has not been very successful: the value of the stock has decreased in 18 companies. Although, this week ended up with total 3255 deals, which is almost the same as the previous week, the turnover of this week decreased to 7,444,776.74 EUR. The leader of this week was Šiaulių Bankas (SAB1L) with turnover of 2,796,630.10 EUR. However, the biggest number of deals was made by Ūkio Bankas (UKB1L); it totaled to 884 deals. The unbelievable fall in stock value demonstrated Sanitas (SAN1L). It is shares decreased by 79.93%.
Sanitas (SAN1L) is a pharmacy company, which is selling shares of Kaunas pharmacy. This week their shares have decreased by 79.93%. The most obvious reason for this perhaps would be the fact that they partitioned the nominal value. The company’s authorized capital was divided to 11,000,000 ordinary namely shares. Nevertheless that the value of the shares has dramatically decreased the interest became greater than before, because the pharmacy company has offered the greatest suggestion by buying Poland’s medicine producer JELFA. The turnover of Sanitas Company this week was 115,990.40 EUR.
Ūkio bankas (UKB1L) this week was not so successful as the previous one. They made the turnover of 1,134,656.35 EUR with 884 deals. Although, the selling of their shares were the most active this week, the value of shares has decreased by 8.40% from 7.59 EUR to 6.66 EUR. Probably the decrease in the value was caused by negative tendency in the market. However, this company has not given his position in the market.
Pieno žvaigždės (PZV1L) this week was announced the turnover of Pieno žvaigždės during period January – October 2005 was EUR 102.9 million. It is 11.2% bigger than previous year in the same period. However, this information has not had any influence for the value of the shares. The turnover of this week was 19,380.33 EUR with just 32 deals. The value of the shares has also decreased by 1.06% from 1.34 EUR to 1.33 EUR. The main reason why the turnover of this company is still increasing is the exportation. However, they think that this year they will not perform the same program of revenue as the previous year.
