Lithuanian Stock Market Overview09/01/2006- 13/01/2006
This week in Lithuanian Stock Market ended with 6,691,450.61 EUR turnover and 3098 deals in overall. However, the biggest part of companies, 20 of them, experienced falls in their market value. Accordingly, the most extreme drop of share value by 6.98% was visible in Klaipėdos baldai (KBL1L) while Alytaus tekstilė (ATK1L) Company increased its stock value very significantly by 58.82% from 0.07 EUR to 0.11 EUR. Moreover, the largest turnover was reached by Telekomas (LTK1L).
Žemaitijos pienas (ZMP1L), one of the largest dairy producers in Lithuania, did not rise its stock value a lot comparing to other companies in Lithuanian Stock Market, just by 2.58%. The price of company’s shares jumped from 5.59 EUR to 5.79 EUR. Though, there were only 18 deals made during whole week. Thus the firm had a turnover of 32,654.43 EUR. The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania sentenced the Republic of Lithuania to pay 5,3 mln. compensation to Žemaitijos pienas due to illegal regulations of „the Rules of Support provision for milk processing companies to maintain purchasing prices of milk“.
Telekomas (LTK1L), one of the two largest telecommunication companies in Lithuania, was the leader in Lithuanian Stock of this week market. The company made a turnover of 1,620,973.84 EUR, which was the largest. Obviously, this was a consequence of the 293 deals company had made. However, its value of shares decreased by 1.45% from 0.80 EUR to 0.78 EUR.
Mažeikių nafta (MNF1L), a crude oil transportation company, managed to reach a turnover of 617,123.23 EUR as there were 341 deals made. In addition, it had a raise in shares value by 4.11% from 2.86 EUR to 2.90 EUR. A more active trade might have been caused because of the information about price of shares as well as of more investors who trust the perspectives of Mažeikių nafta.
