HEX (Helsinki) Market Overviews

Helsinki Stock Market Overview
13/03/2005-17/03/2005

As the spring continues to conquire the world, trade on Helsinki Stock Exchange doesn’t stop. Week’s total turnover was 7,766,895,415. Main indexes have increased a bit over the week. OMX Helsinki rised by 1.31%, and OMX Helsinki 25 by 1.97%. As to share prices, there were some minor and some major changes.

The performance of Nokian Tyres Plc (NRE1V) was very attractive to observe during this week. Its share price has increased by 5.64%. However, the price saw not only rise. On Tuesday, it started going up because of the announcement about an additional investment in heavy production in Finland. This will positively influence the capacity of Nokian Tyres during 2006 – 2007. It will help to meet with the strong growth in demand. Later this week, on Thursday, the share price dropped slightly after an announcement about an Annual Meeting Call. At the moment it is 13.87.

Teleste Corporation (TLT1V) is one of the world's leading companies in the field of Broadband Access and Video Surveillance. It share price had one of the most significant rise during the week – almost 10%. It started rising already on Tuesday, when an announcement about signing a double digit frame agreement for access equipment with a major cable operator in the Western Europe. By this contract, Teleste becomes the key operator’s supplier. The value of the agreementis estimated at 11.5 million euros. The start of the deliveries is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2006 and the main portion of the contract deliveries will take place during 2007.

Kemira GrowHow (KGH1V) is a leading European provider of fertilizer products for use in agriculture with a particular focus to customized fertilizing solutions. The price of share slightly went down during this week by -5.52% (from 6.16 to 5.85). The reason for such decrease is the increase in the price of natural gas in the world’s market. As a result, Kemira GrowHow has this week shut down both its ammonia production units in the UK due to high gas price. According to the current estimates, increases in fertilizer prices in the short term will not compensate the drastic increases in costs. Kemira GrowHow's first quarter 2006 operating profit is expected to be clearly negative due to these reasons.

AffectoGenimap Plc (AFE1V) is a leading supplier of highly customized IT solutions for its customers in Finland and the Baltic countries. This week was unsuccessful for the shareholders of AffectoGenimap because the share price dramatically dropped by -21.43%. It can be explained that AffectoGenimap performed not so well during the first quarter of the year and it estimates that the group's operating result to be slightly negative in first quarter 2006. Secondly, in the meetings held on 17 March 2006, the Board of Directors accepted and signed a merger plan, according to which Affecto Ltd, Domasoft Ltd and Genimap Ltd shall be merged in Genimap International Ltd.
