HEX (Helsinki) Market Overviews

 

This week, same as the previous week, the stock had a slight increase in its index. The OMX Helsinki 25 (OMXH25) increased by 1.35% and reached value of 3337.75. Two major winners of this period are Wärtsilä Oyj Abp B (WRTBV) and Konecranes Oyj (KCR1V). The biggest looser is Uponor Oyj (UNR1V). Overall, 13 stocks gained in value, compared to 12 that decreased during this week.

 

Wärtsilä Oyj Abp B (WRTBV) is a company which provides lifecycle power solutions to the marine and energy markets worldwide. The stock of this company increased by 14.56% from 49.56 EUR to 57.4EUR. It was the biggest increase in this market this week which was mainly caused by an announcement of Earning Results for the three quarters made on Tuesday. After this huge growth value of the stock returned to its previous trend of slight increase.  Therefore, we can recommend investing in this company for long-term investors.

 

The second company that showed the best results this week is Konecranes Oyj (KCR1V). This firm mainly operates on lifting equipment and services of lift repair. The value of this company has increased by 13.47% from 27.54EUR to 30.96EUR. Similarly to the previous company, the sharp increase was mainly caused by the announcement of the report of Earning Results for the 3rd quarter on Wednesday, and contributed a rise of 11.95%. It was the biggest change of the day in this market this week. However, after that the market made a small correction which resulted in decrease on Friday. However, similarly to WRTBV, KCR1V is likely to have slight increase in the future.

 

It is also worth mentioning Outotec Oyj (OTE1V), a company that provides process solutions, technologies, and services for the mining and metals industries. It has the third result this week (increase of 10.38%). What is more, this company shows similar performance during the whole year, except the end of the summer (the USA credit crisis), and already has a 138.23% increase during this year which makes this company a leader in an OMXH 25 market.

 

On the other hand, Uponor Oyj (UNR1V), a company that produces pipes and heating systems, seems to have serious problems. The same as the previous week, this company appears in the biggest loser list. The total decrease of 4.53% (from 18.56EUR to 17.01EUR) shows that this company still faces a crisis that started in May 2007 and there are no positive signs of improved performance in the future.
