TSE (Tallinn) Market Overviews
26/11/2007-30/11/2007
This week
Tallinn stock market
continued to show negative moods. With almost no significant inner information
Tallinn market is mostly influenced by the
US
marked, where situation slightly improved by the end of the week. This helped OMX Tallinn to level-off its decrease
at -3.03%. The turnover as usually
was around 20 million euros (19,559,569). The only rising stocks were Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG1T),
and Ekspress Grupp (EEG1T): 2.15%
and 1.06% respectively. Those who dropped the most: Merko Ehitus (MKO1T), AS Viisnurk (VNS1T), and Trigon Property Development (TPD1T), -20.49%,
-11.87%., -7.77%. If not the high turnover of the best performing stocks, the
OMX Tallinn would have been dragged down even more.
The worst
stock this week – Merko Ehitus (MKO1T). The
price went from 16.98 to 14.50 Euros. This company looked promising, but the
financial results for 9 months were lower than the expectations. From July this
stock has fallen by more than 40%. Nevertheless, this company remains strong in
the Baltic market and it is worth to have this position in mind when deciding
where to invest.
The biggest winner’s place was taken by Olympic Entertainment Group
(OEG1T). At last this stock succeeded to recover slightly for the first
time this week after negative operating profit results announced half a month
ago. Its price has demonstrated an increase of 2.15% from 3.72 to 3.80 Euros. Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG1T) was also a leader
in TSE according to all other parameters: the largest turnover – 5,776,615 and
the biggest number of deals as well – 474. On Monday the company has announced
that a new casino in
Ukraine
was opened. Therefore, investors should take it into account whether they are
thinking about the future benefits.
Ekspress Grupp
(EEG1T) was the second and the last firm which showed a positive change in the
Tallinn stock market. With
137,860 turnover and 55 deals
its value rose by 1.06% to 4.75 Euros. Some developmental news was published
during this week - a business information line called TeleTell was
launched in
Romania
by AS Ekspress Hotline which is the part of the Ekspress Group. However, this
news did not admire the investors, because the next day (Friday) only 2 deals
were done and the price even decreased. It seems that the whole situation in
all the Baltics is quite tense. Hopefully the world trading trend will continue
to be positive (like it was in the most days of this week) without hearing any
bad news. That way it will probably shift up the negative mood which lasts for
more than one month in the Baltics.
