Lithuanian Stock Market Overview 06/11/2006-10/11/2006
Companies in the Lithuanian market have shown positive results during this week as there were 16 falls in the stock market versus 20 rises. The OMX market index decreased by 3.64 % this week to 428.05. The amount of deals totaled 3697 and the overall turnover reached 8284516.65 € (41913.98 € less than the previous week) . The biggest increase in the stock of value of 13 % was experienced by Klaipėdos nafta (KNF1L), and one of the biggest decreases was experienced by Sanitas (SAN1L), whose turnover was 341171.52 €.
The stocks of Sanitas (SAN1L) – the biggest company in the Baltics producing medicines decreased by 8.81 % from 4.6 € to 4.2 € with a turnover of 341171.52 € this week. The company planned to have sales revenues of 64030.06 million €, but for the previous 10 months the sales revenue was 34237.43 million €. In addition, on Thursday in the daughter company in Poland “Jelfa” the production was stopped, as in there was detected another medicine in the preparate “Corhydron 250”. The customers won’t trust the company as much as before, so in future the profits might decrease. The trade of these stocks was stopped on Thursday until Monday. On Monday the value of the stocks should decrease.
The leader of this week was Klaipėdos nafta (KNF1L), whose value of stocks increased by 13.58 % and reached the price of 0.27 €. The amount of deals totaled 130. The increase was influenced by the new that “PKN Orlen” is going to import oil to Lithuania by pipes from Klaipėda to Būtingė( www.jt.lt). Therefore the profits of Klaipėdos nafta should increase. In future, the prices of the stock will depend on the success of the sale of “Mažeikių nafta”.
There was a slight increase in the value stock of Ūkio bankas (UKB1L) of 3.89 %. The amount of deals totaled 489 and the turnover was even 761843.01 €. The company, which rapidly improves the system of internet banking, has made the biggest lunge comparing to other banking companies. Moreover, board members transferred some shares to the sister of the main bank’s shareholder Olga Gončaruk. It shows that the value of the stock should increase.
