Helsinki Stock Market Overview (HEX) 08/01/2007 – 12/01/2007
During the week the OMX Helsinki 25 (OMXH25) index has decreased by 1.52 % from 2838.35 to 2882.39. The number of stocks which have gained in value over the week is 89. The number of stocks which faced a decrease in value over the week is 49. The overall turnover throughout the week is 1 203 145 488. Comparing to the previous stock exchange week the overall turnover has increased by 17.6 %. Two major week winners are TJ Group and Comptel. TJ Group is major week winner second time in a row. Two week losers are Biohit B and Sponda.
This week the shares of F-Secure (FSC1V), company which saves households and enterprises from harm of computer viruses and threats from the Internet and mobile networks, increased by 12.71 % and reached 2.63 EUR per share.. Such an increase took place because F-Secure has issued 93 600 shares, which were listed on the HEX and the trading started on Tuesday, and because of the release of Messaging Security Gateway 4, next-generation messaging security solutions which blocks spam and viruses at the gateway level.
The shares of Honkarakenne Oyj (HONBS) have increased by 6,77 %. The market price of a share is 6,15 and during the week they managed to sell 1 140 of them. The reason for increase was signing a deal of 11 millions with Kazakhstan for 100 new homes. Honkarakenne is the pioneer and market leader of the log construction industry in Finland.
Sponda Plc (SDA1V) shares have experienced a decrease of 14.43% during the week. The price dropped to 10.65 Euro per share. Sponda is a real estate company specializing in commercial properties in Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The huge downfall of shares took place because Helsinki District Court has ordered Sponda Plc to pay Sampo Bank Plc interest, penal interest and court costs totalling roughly EUR 7.6 million based on a credit agreement signed on 2 July 1999.
Technopolis Oyj (TPS1V) experienced a change in top management. Satu Eskelinen, M.Sc. (Eng.), 45, has been appointed as Director of the Tampere Area at Technopolis Plc and as a member of the company's Executive Board as of 15.1.2007. She will also serve as CEO of Technopolis TSP Oy. Because of this, the shares of the Technopolis group decreased by 4.00% and reached the price of 7.89 Euro per share.
