TSE (Tallinn) Market Overviews

Tallinn Stock Market (TSE) Overview 19/02/07 - 23/02/07

During this week the OMX Tallinn index decreased by 1.35% from 982.49 to 947.86.OMX index decrease is connected to the fact that for 14 companies the share value decreased, for one remained the same and for Saku Õlletehas (SKU1T) it went up. Total turnover was €18,706,875 from which €5,878,651 and €4,537,776 was generated by Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG1T) and Tallink (TAL1T) accordingly.

With 745 deals Tallink (TAL1T) was the most traded share on Tallinn’s Stock exchange. Total turnover was €4,537,776. Stock value declined from 1.50 to 1.45 which is 3.3%. Tallink stocks have suffered after stock split and the company’s decision not to pay dividends this year, but main reason why Tallink’s shares and most of the shares on Tallinn Stock Exchange have decreased in their value dates back to 8.02.2007 when there was a downfall on the whole market. Starting from last years November all the stocks had increased in their value and it was expected that at one time the increase cannot continue and there must be a downfall. As for future the prices will decline for some time due to trend, but then start rising.

Saku Õlletehas (SKU1T) share value increased this week from €14.75 to €16.00, change was 8.47%. Share value increased due to very good financial results. Net profit was €7.5 million, which is 57% more than in the year 2005. Saku Õlletehas also decided to pay dividends for €12.78 million, which amounts to €1.6 per share. These news made Saku Õlletehas’s shares attracting for investors and will make them for some time, so it is expected that the share value will increase in the future, but the increase will not be as big it was this week.

Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG1T) had the biggest turnover this week (€5,878,651) with 623 deals. Share value decreased from €11.00 to €10.23. OEG published their unaudited financial results on 21st February which were fairly positive: net profit had grown for 87.5% and was €24.8 million. OEG’s shares were following the market trend this week and declining in their share value, but future looks bright due to good performance and it is expected that the share value will increase.
