Tallin Stock Exchange Market Overview 04/12/06 - 08/12/06
This week the total turnover in Tallinn Stock Exchange market was €20,362,776, which is €3,621,224 more than previous week. Tallinn OMX index increased by 1.42% from 781.60 to 793.19. The biggest increases in stock value were shown by Merko Ehitus(MKO1T)-growth of 9.84%, and Baltika (BLT1T) – growth of 7.84%. Eesti Telekom (ETLAT) had the biggest turnover of €7,101,187, but the stock value increased only 0.13%. This week there were 2,009 deals. Stock value increased for 10 companies and decreased for 6 companies.
Merko Ehitus (MKO1T) share value increased by 9.84% from €18.80 to €20.65. It seems that investors are comparing construction companies in Estonia and they seem to be preferring Merko Ehitus, because Eesti Ehitus(EEH1T) stock value decreased by 4.59% from €10.89 to €10.39. If this relationship continues and investors seem to prefer Merko Ehitus, then the stock value may increase. On the other hand the price of the stock has almost reached its record level, so it is more likely that the value of the share will draw back.
Clothing retailer Baltika (BLT1T) share seems to be only increasing. This week the change was 7.84% from €20.40 to €22.00. In total there were 109 deals with the turnover of €585,861 made. This week news that Batlika is increasing its share capital have appeared. The company has also published its sales information, which showed that sales had increased by 50% over the year. Only good news for the investors and presumably the share value is going to stay on this level or even increase.
Eesti Telekom (ETLAT) had the biggest turnover this week which equalled €7,101,187. Share value changed by 0.13% from €7.79 to €7.80. In the middle of the week big deals forced the price of the share to go down, but in the end of the week the share reached the value of €7.80. What is surprising that all other stocks value in Tallinn Stock Exchange market has changed, but Eesti Telekom has stayed put, although the financial results of the 3rd quarter were good. If investors will detect the opportunity that they can get good dividends then probably the stock value will increase.
