Internal Investing Competition by Luminor



Internal Investing Competition by Luminor is an investment competition that officially starts on December 20, 2021. The registration is free of charge. The Competition will last for 3 months in total and the TOP 3 performers will get a real money prize pool amounting to 1000 EUR.

One of the main goals of this Investing Competition is to let participants apply their skills and gain hands-on experience in investing in the financial markets using a top-notch Luminor Investor platform. Participants can invest in stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual funds.

All students of the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga are able to participate with an exception of Board members of the iFund.

In order to take a part in the competition participants are required to fill in the registration form below by December 15, 2021, 22:00 Riga time.

All participants that registered before December 15, 2021, 22:00 Riga time will be provided with their Competition ID and password via e-mail until December 19, 2021, 23:59 Riga time.



  • “Internal Investing Competition by Luminor (hereinafter – Competition) is an individual competition
  • To register for the Competition, the registration form needs to be filled by December 15, 2021, 22:00 Riga time.
  • The trading period starts on December 20, 2021, and ends on March 20, 2022
  • Each registered user manages a virtual portfolio worth 100 000 EUR
  • Participants may invest in all of the financial instruments available on the “Luminor Investor” Demo platform: stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual funds
  • Participants are required to make at least 10 transactions (buying and selling an asset are counted as separate transactions)
  • Participants are required to invest at least 50, 000 EUR
  • The main goal for each participant is to maximize positive profit, measured as % from the initial balance.
  • In case a participant of the Competition notices that corporate action (e.g., stock split) happened for one or more of his investments, a participant must inform the organizers via email until further actions with the particular financial instrument. If further action is made without informing the organisers, the participant may not be eligible for prizes.
  • The official results of the Competition will be announced on March 28, 2022, during the closing ceremony. Participants to be awarded will be asked if they want to disclose their names or remain anonymous.
  • The results are evaluated based on positive profit, measured as % from the initial balance
  • The eligibility for prizes is determined by the organizers together with Luminor Bank based on whether all of the relevant requirements are met by a participant (in addition to the number of trades and minimum investment, you should adhere to fair trading principles; see all the requirements here). The prizes are assigned after these requirements are checked.
  • If the organizers do not hear back from the eligible winners within 4 weeks after the announcement has been made, the winners will lose their eligibility for the prizes.
  • By registering for the Competition, you indirectly allow IFund and Luminor Bank to use your account details, trading decisions, transactions and results strictly for non-commercial purposes. This might include sending important information to participants, publishing preliminary results, analyzing time spend in the “Luminor Investor” Demo platform, instruments used, and profits made. IFund and Luminor Bank might share insights from the competition on their social media. Anonymity of each participant is guaranteed.
  • The organizers are not liable for any advice provided on stock-picking.
  • The organizers of the competition retain the rights to change the rules of the competition at any time. Changes have to be agreed on by a majority vote at the SSE Riga Investment Fund Board meeting. All changes will be published in the news and rules sections.
  • If organizers observe any suspicious transactions, they take full legal entitlement to temporarily suspend the user activity for investigation purposes; and in case of cheating, the account will be deleted while the user will be banned from the competition forever. If there is a suspicion that a player manipulated the real market to gain an advantage in the competition, our duty is to report such cases to relevant regulatory authorities.
  • If one of the competition winners is found guilty of manipulating the real market for the purpose of winning the competition after investigation of the security exchange commission in any of the countries represented in the competition, organizers have the right to demand reimbursement of the prize from the guilty winner.
